Art Projects

During our meetings, we freely exchange ideas and try finding ways to implement them. Here is what we’ve accomplished so far!

Land Research Project

Started in September, 2022

Non-obvious and extravagant ways to explore the surroundings.

Wild Walks Haifa:
”We started out by listening to the noises of the streets and recorded a soundscape. Next we’ve built noise maps and finally interpreted our soundscape as a soundtrack for jamming.”

Wild Walks Tel Aviv:

“Our idea is to create a city alphabet. We discussed which medium could help us. Among others we were thinking of small graphic novels, collages, and texture imprints. Then everyone shared something about Tel Aviv that feels incredible, and then we linked each of these facts to certain letters. Sounds like we’re gonna build a whole encyclopedia of Tel Aviv!”

The Noisy Fish Podcast

Launched in August, 2022

This show hosted by the “Wild Walks” teenagers from Tel Aviv is all about the fun and burden of being a new immigrant in Israel. Taking the phrase “We love hummus and Shabbat” as a slightly ironic motto, the podcasters discuss their expectations of the new life and compare it with the experiences of their life in the motherland. The podcast project is made by teenagers and arranged by the group leader and soundman Grisha Markov.

Go figure out what’s better, hummus or Shabbat!

“We often use the National library’s collections to see examples and explore our topics.

Art laboratory

August, 2022. Supported by the National Library of Israel

In summer we collaborated with the National Library of Israel to arrange a week-long art lab. During that week 50 new immigrants from Ukraine and Russia aged 12-20 were working together on several art projects devoted to Jerusalem, poetess Leah Goldberg and the kids’ own experience of emigration. Local teenagers volunteered for this art lab.

After a week the participants presented their projects: a theatre performance, an animated movie and architectural models which afterward were placed on the premises of the Giv’at Ram University campus.

Collaboration with the WILD KIDS

Since April 2022 the “Wild Kids” studio in Jerusalem leads workshops on animation

explaining dark matters

Animated movies created by the teenagers were all based on their recent experience. This art project became an excellent tool for processing uneasy feelings and emotions.
